The Tollemache Arms was originally a farm building from the 1600's.
It began trading as an inn in 1776, and has passed through many hands since then.
In late 2008, the inn was acquired by Robinson's of Stockport, after which it was extensively refurbished over a period of two months.
The Tollemache arms (known locally as "The Tolly") is now under the managment of Paul Collins, ably assisted by his wife Valerie and daughter Emma. The Tolly was re-opened in December 2008, offering fine ales, excellent food and a selection of sensibly-priced wines. The restaurant offers a carvery-type menu on Sundays (12:00 - 18:00) and a full menu on other days. There is a specials board and a selection of "lighter-bite" meals, and there is always at least one vegetarian option. The children's menu offers a selection of home-cooked meals, personally vetted by Paul's grandson Archie!
An early triumph for the management team was the recruitment of chef John from another local dining pub, and the results are clear to see.
A range of attractions are planned, including live music and speciality food nights - watch our events list for details.
